Framingham State College
, the first public college for the education of teachers in the United States, was founded in 1839 by Horace Mann. It is a comprehensive college offering excellent teaching in small classes and a supportive campus community. The faculty are dedicated and highly qualified, with over seventy percent holding the doctorate.

The beautiful 73-acre campus is located in the thriving MetroWest Boston area.  The facilities are superb: there is a new state-of the-art Athletic and Recreation Center, and outstanding technology resources. Starting in September 2002, all incoming freshmen will be required to have wireless laptop computers. Over 1400 undergraduates live on campus.

The College offers 25 undergraduate majors in day and evening programs, and 20 graduate degree programs. The total enrollment is 5,900, including 4,000 undergraduates and 1,900 graduate students. With the lowest total cost of the state colleges, Framingham State College provides outstanding and affordable educational opportunities.
