About This Site

Westfield State College is a four-year coeducational, comprehensive public college with dozens of traditional liberal arts and contemporary professional programs to explore. The most residential of the Massachusetts state colleges, Westfield State takes pride in its friendly campus. There are about 3,200 full-time undergraduate students and 2,000 students enrolled through the Division of Graduate and Continuing Education.

Effective, dynamic teaching and emphasis on service learning are integral to Westfield State’s mission. Advanced technology, science labs, fitness center, greenhouse, gallery, and theaters provide opportunities for “learning by doing.” There are many off-campus opportunities as well: volunteering, internships, co-ops, and national and international study programs.

The campus is in a great location. Just ten minutes off the Massachusetts Turnpike, 20 minutes from Springfield, and two hours from Boston, Westfield State is in an attractive neighborhood surrounded by towering pine trees and mountain views. Stanley Park—with acres of gardens, forests, and fields—is across the street.

It's the perfect setting for getting a well-rounded education while achieving specialized goals.
